Captain's log, inaugural entry. Earth date, December 15, 2380. It has been five days since I boarded the Pathfinder independently, to settle in and start building a rapport with her. Since then, I just haven't bothered to leave. Assignments continue to trickle down from Command, and the ship is slowly filling up with junior officers. Meanwhile, when I am not tinkering or verifying system diagnostics, I have been picking out my preferred candidates for senior officer positions while I await word on what our first mission may be. I suspect my tunings have already been noticed by the shipyard engineers, but none of them have interfered or questioned the changes openly thus far. I can only hope to find a suitable kindred spirit as an engineer who will not raise hell about someone else modifying systems, though given the pride we take in our work I suspect this may be unlikely. Will I end up having to step back and let others handle the refinements?
