Aft Lounge (Deck 14)

The aft lounge is considerably smaller and more intimate than the ship's main lounge forward, a single open room furnished with a scattering of low couches and armchairs arranged in loose clusters around low circular tables. The furniture is upholstered in a deep blue-grey fabric, worn slightly at the armrests from regular use, and the tables themselves are a warm, dark wood-toned composite rather than the cooler metallic surfaces found in more technical spaces nearby.
The room's defining feature is a wide, gently curved viewport spanning almost the entire aft wall, offering a sweeping view directly behind the ship: the twin warp nacelles are visible at the edges of the frame, their pylons sweeping back and slightly outward, with open starfield filling the space between them. A long, low bench seat runs the length of the viewport, cushioned to encourage lingering, and small reading lamps are mounted at intervals along the wall above it for anyone settling in with a data slate.
A compact replicator alcove is set into the sidewall near the entrance, its interface panel simpler than the ones found in Main Lounge, reflecting a more limited beverage and light snack menu suited to a crew on a short break rather than a full meal service. The lighting throughout is warm and low, dimmer than most crew spaces, allowing the view through the aft window to remain the most striking feature of the room. The air is quiet, carrying the faint smell of brewed coffee or tea from the replicator alcove, and the ambient sound is a soft murmur of quiet conversation layered over the ship's constant, barely perceptible background hum, felt here mostly as a light vibration through the deck rather than heard.
