Deck Chief's Office - Bay 1 (Deck 10)

This small office sits just off the shuttlebay floor behind an unassuming door, close enough that the muffled hum of hangar activity is always faintly present. A single desk faces the door, its surface a mix of a built-in console and just enough bare space for a stack of padds, with a well-worn chair pushed in behind it. One wall is given over to a large status board mirroring the flight operations displays, showing Bay 1's craft roster, maintenance schedules, and crew assignments at a glance without needing to walk out onto the floor. A second, smaller viewport looks directly out onto a section of the hangar, positioned so the chief can keep half an eye on deck activity while working at the desk. A row of citations, unit patches, and a few personal mementos are mounted on the wall behind the desk, alongside a well-organized tool board holding a chief's personal set of hand tools, kept separate from general shuttlebay stock. A small side table holds a coffee maker and a couple of mismatched mugs, clearly more used than the office's other furnishings. The office is small enough that it never feels empty even with just one person in it, and the walls do a reasonable job of muffling the shuttlebay's noise without eliminating it entirely - the deeper thrum of a departing shuttle can still be felt, if not clearly heard, through the deck plating underfoot.
